not.The prize seems well worth the risk-but this timeMarcelline's met her match. To get to the lady, though, Marcelline must win over Clevedon, whosestandards are as high as his morals are.

And who better to benefitfrom her talent than the worst-dressed lady in the ton,the Duke of Clevedon's intended bride? Winning thefuture duchess's patronage means prestige and fortunefor Marcelline and her sisters.

and gentlemen would kill to remove it!Brilliant and ambitious dressmaker Marcelline Noirotis London's rising star. The sex is hot but still a little veiled in innuendo - perfect for someone who isn't used to having explicitly sex scenes be present in books they read/important to the plot of those books. From the Design Book of Marcelline Noirot:The allure of the perfect gown should be twofold:ladies would die to wear it. Chase's prose and gift for banter will make you laugh out loud. Packed with dramatic twists of fate and moments taught with passion, this book is just SO fun. I typically don't like children in my romances but Lucie is on the page the right amount and doesn't just exist to provide precocious wisdom to her mother, so just this once I can forgive it. Additionally, Clara's rejection of Clevedon is beyond satisfying. Possibly the most special thing about this book is the way Chase turns Clara from a rival for Marcelline to an ally, the most perfect display of Marcelline's charm and skill. Clevedon and Marcelline are perfectly matched in every aspect - they challenge and needle and derange each other from beginning to end of the book in a way that is fun and endearing for both readers and characters. I love this series and this book is such a great example of what makes Chase's writing so special.
